Half Moon Bay Joined Hands with Republic Services for Earth Day Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Half Moon Bay, California announced that it will hold annual Earth Day Recycling Event on Saturday, April 15, in partnership with Republic Services. The event comprises of compost giveaway, no contact e-waste recycling and document shredding.

The event is only for Half Moon Bay residents. It will take place in the Smith Field parking lot at the end of Wavecrest Road from 9AM to 12 Noon. The material drop-offs will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The residents are required to produce proof of residence.

For compost giveaway, the residents are requested to bring their own buckets, shovels and gloves. There will be a limit of 0.5 cubic yards per household, which is roughly the size of the 96-gallon compost cart.

For e-waste recycling, customers are requested to place their materials in the trunk or backseat and remain in the car, until the items are retrieved by staff member. The event will accept a wide range of electronic waste including TVs, monitors, printers, computers, cables, cell phones, lamps, DVD players, etc. 

For paper shredding, the items must be placed in boxes in the trunk of the car. The residents are required to follow the directions of staff to proceed to the designated paper shredding location. There will be a limit of three boxes per household.
