Keep Blount Beautiful to Host Annual Earth Day Recycling


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Keep Blount Beautiful announced that it will host its annual Earth Day Recycling collection from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023. The event will be held at First Baptist Church Maryville, 202 W. Lamar Alexander Parkway. It is part of events organized in celebration of the Blount County Great American Cleanup (BCGAC) initiative.

E-cycle of Knoxville, Shred-It, Goodwill, Maryville Lions Club and Keep Blount Beautiful will accept items at this event.

Shred-It will accept documents only from households and not from businesses or offices. Metal bindings must be removed. The on-site shredding services will be available only until capacity lasts. There will be $5 donation for shredding services.

E-Cycle of Knoxville will accept electronic items for free, except a few. There will be a disposal fee of $15 for CRT monitors and CRT and flat screen televisions.

Goodwill will accept clothes and shoes, DVDs, CDs, books, toys/games, housewares, luggage, blankets, towels etc. All items must be in good, working condition with no stains, rips, breaks, or excessive wear.

Maryville Lions Club will accept eyeglasses, while Keep Blount Beautiful will accept reusable bags in good condition, used Brita brand products and used oral care products of any brand.

The event will not accept household recycling, household hazardous waste, paint, or lightbulbs.
