Toledo Announced Schedule of Free Drop-Off Refuse and Recycling Events


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Toledo announced the schedule of free refuse and recycling drop-off events throughout the city during the current year. There will be a total of 26 such free events from April to October, which will accept items that are difficult to recycle or are otherwise not accepted at curbside recycling.

The events will collect a variety of items including electronic waste, tires, houseware goods, clothing, toys, cardboard, phone books, newspapers, bulky items, Styrofoam, latex or oil-based paint and stains, in addition to household hazardous waste.

Apart from the above list of accepted materials, certain locations will accept specific materials. For instance, the Toledo Zoo, Detwiler Park, and Point Place Plaza events will accept boat shrink wrap. Also, used medical equipment will be accepted at the Toledo Zoo, Frederick Douglass Center, Epworth United Methodist Church, Horizons Science Academy and Ottawa Park events.

A total of three events are scheduled to be held in the month of April. The first one will be held at the Imagination Station/Promenade Park, 1 Discovery Way in downtown Toledo on 15th April, 9AM to 1PM. The second event will be held at the Toledo Zoo, 2 Hippo Way, 9 AM to 3 PM on April 22nd. The last event for the month will be held on 29th April at Toledo Technology Academy, 3301 Upton Ave., 9 AM to 1PM.
