SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): An e-waste recycling event will be held by the City of Morris in collaboration with First America, a complete e-waste recycling service provider. The gathering is planned for this Friday at First America Recycling, located at 1000 E. Armstrong Street, Morris, IL.
Cables and wiring, TVs and monitors, batteries, cameras and camcorders, cell phones, laptops, iPods, iPads, circuit boards, microwaves, game systems, DVD players and VCRs, fax machines, scanners and printers, and portable appliances are just a few of the many electronic items that will be accepted at the recycling event.
However, it will not accept white goods such as stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers and refrigerators.

There will be a recycling fee of $25 for CRTs, deep back TVs and monitors. All other items will be accepted for free.
The community was encouraged to take part in the event by Mayor Chris Brown. He pointed out that the event offers the community a great chance to recycle electronic devices properly, since they may otherwise have negative effects on the environment and human health. He warned that dangerous elements like lead, mercury, and cadmium are frequently found in electronic garbage.
For almost fifteen years, First America has provided recycling services for metal scrap and electronics.
