Modern Recycling Facility Announced in Mount Vernon


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Avangard Innovative- the largest film/post-consumer resin producer in the Americas, announced plans to open a state-of-the-art recycling facility in Posey County, Mount Vernon, Indiana.

The plant will be located on the 176-acre site in a field across from AstraZeneca on Indiana State Road 62. This will be Avangard’s first location in Indiana. The proposed plant is expected to generate more than 200 jobs in the region and enhance the company’s service offerings in the Midwest region. According to the company, it plans to invest approximately $100 million in the facility. The construction works are scheduled to begin next year, with expected start up in 2024.

Commenting on the development, Jenna Richardt, VP of Economic and Community Development for the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership noted that the announcement marks the culmination of about a year long process. The presence of other local customers makes the place attractive for the company. The community is excited by the decision, Richardt added.

Mount Vernon Mayor Bill Curtis welcomed Avangard to Mount Vernon. He noted that the new venture will boost the economy and bring new opportunities to the region.
