SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): A free paint recycling event is scheduled at Westside Community Center, 1628 W Bijou St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 on Saturday, September 30th 9AM to 1PM. The event is being held in collaboration with GreenSheen Paint- a leading commercial and residential painting contractor.

The event will be open for local residents, businesses, realtors and other businesses, which will provide an opportunity for them to dispose of unused, unwanted or leftover paint for safe recycling. This will make paint recycling accessible to wider audience, while preventing the paint from reaching landfills.

The paint should be in original labelled containers, without any leakage. Sample sizes and containers ranging from one to five gallons are accepted. The accepted items include oil-based, acrylic, and latex paints, as well as stains, shellacs, lacquers, sealers, varnishes, and urethanes.

Meantime, spray paint, paint thinners, solvents, cleaning agents, adhesives, roof patch materials, drywall mud, driveway sealer, automotive paints, and other hazardous wastes will not be accepted.

The paint collected during the event will be recycled and converted by GreenSheen into latex paints.
