SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Grandview, Washington has announced schedule for a free paint recycling event.
The recycling event will be held at Grandview Public Works and Building Department, 603 North Willoughby Road on Saturday, May 20 from 10 AM to 2 PM. The event will allow households as well as businesses to recycle unused paint, free of charge. The one-day drop off event is being held in partnership with PaintCare- a non-profit paint recycling organization.

Households are allowed to bring any amount of paint, stain and varnish. However, businesses will have limits. In order to use PaintCare drop-off sites and events for oil-based products, a business must qualify as an exempt generator under rules. If the business does not qualify as an exempt generator, it can use PaintCare drop-off sites and events for water-based products but not oil-based products.
Paint must be in sealed, original container with original manufacturer label. The event is only for house paint and primers, stains, deck and concrete sealers and clear finishes. Other hazardous waste or chemicals such as paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, spackle, glue, adhesive, roofing tar, pesticides and cleaning chemicals will not be accepted.
