WVU to hold book recycling collection

As part of University efforts to promote a more sustainable future for all Mountaineers, the Office of Sustainability will host its second book recycling collection for 2023 during the week of July 17. The deadline to request a pickup is Wednesday, July 12.

Fill out this form to request a pickup.

The entire WVU community is invited to participate in the biannual book recycling program, which is designed to help departments recycle unwanted paper items from their offices and storage rooms.

The program is primarily intended for hardback books, but individuals also may include paperback books, journals, magazines, spiral notebooks, hanging file folders and pamphlets.

Employees based on the Health Sciences campus do not need to submit a pick-up request form. These employees can drop off their boxes in room G351 near the receiving room before Friday, July 14.

This special pick-up service does not include confidential document shredding needs.

Visit the Office of Sustainability website to learn more about shredding services, including pricing and acceptable shredding material.

The Sustainability team also will offer a public drop-off location for employees and students to recycle their personally owned books. Individuals may drop off books in the Kanawha Room of the Mountainlair between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from July 12-14.
