Union County Announced Final Scrap Metal Drop-Off Event of the Year

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Union County Board of County Commissioners announced that it will host a free scrap metal recycling drop-off program in the current month. This will be the final such event of the year. The County runs such programs every year from April to November.

The County invited all residents to take best use of the opportunity to get rid of their unwanted items, including old metal lawn furniture, gutters, fencing, household items and more. The event will also accept items such as air conditioners, tire rims and railings and other metal goods.

The drop-off event will be held on November 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Emergency Services Building, 151 Kenilworth Boulevard, Cramford and Rahway River Park (off St. Georges Avenue to service yard across from swimming pool).

The residents from any Union County municipality are allowed to bring materials to either of these sites. They are requested to remain in their vehicles all the time. The materials must be placed in the trunk, cargo area or truck bed in such a way that it is easy for staff to remove from the vehicles.

Commissioner Chairman Sergio Granados noted that the event demonstrates its commitment to responsible resource management and environmental preservation. He invited all residents to participate in the event.
