Standard Textile Launched Take-Back Recycling Program


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Standard Textile Co., Inc. announced the launch of its Take-Back Recycling Program.

Prior to the official launch of the program, the company had conducted a pilot program from 2022 to 2023 at more than 35 properties across the country, in partnership with two of their hospitality customers. In 2022, the program had diverted 6,080 lbs of textiles were diverted. Also, 5,800 lbs were diverted during the previous year. In total, 11,880 pounds of linens were saved from being ending up in landfills.

Melanie Boyle, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Standard Textile said that the company is thrilled to introduce the Take-Back Recycling Program, in alignment with its mission to promote sustainability across its operations. The partnership will help the company reduce waste and explore circularity with products, he added.

The program will accept retired linens from hospitality customers throughout the nation, which are then repurposed or downcycled into new useful products such as carpet paddings and automobile insulation. Those interested to participate in the program are required to contact Standard Textile representatives to know details of enrolling in the program. There will be a nominal fee to cover freight and processing costs.
