According to the communication released by the Solid Waste District, the event is being held on a first come first serve basis. Owing to high demand, it may be forced to stop accepting items from customers whenever the containers are full. The residents are requested to leave the rims on tires. Not all items are accepted, for instance, ammunition, asbestos, explosives, medical supplies, Freon & hazardous waste.

Each vehicle may dispose of 5 passenger tires & 2 truck tires for free. Above that passenger tire, truck tyre and tractor tires will be charged at $6, $18 and $50 per unit respectively. Miscellaneous tires will be priced on site. There will be a charge of $5 per unit for CRT monitors and large printers. Also, TVs will be charged $20 each.

The event is being organized as the District has no local place to recycle tires or electronics, said Lauren Haubeil-Grooms, assistant director.
