SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) has opened applications for its 2026 Recycling Awards. The organization invites innovators, facilities, organizations, and industry leaders to compete across six different award categories that recognize excellence in recycling, sustainability, and resource recovery.
The last date of accepting nominations will be July 31, 2026, while the winners will be notified in October 2026. The award winners will be honored during the NWRA Industry Conference in Nashville, Tennessee scheduled for January 18-20, 2027.

The award categories include Game Changing Partnership in Sustainability, Recycling Equipment Innovator, Recycling Facility of the Year, Organics Facility of the Year, Construction & Demolition Recycling Facility of the Year, and Excellence in Recycling or Sustainability Public Education.
NWRA President and CEO Michael E. Hoffman noted that the awards highlight the significant investments being made across the waste and recycling sector in recycling infrastructure, organics recovery, and advanced technologies that support sustainability and the circular economy. Furthermore, he urged all eligible members to apply and showcase the positive impacts made by the industry in communities across the country.
