Republic Services will deliver new garbage and recycling carts next week to Waterville residents while distributing a city letter and reference materials explaining changes to the refuse-collection system there.

Recycling pickup in Waterville will be changing to every other week instead of weekly, and bagged garbage outside the official cart will only be picked up if it has a refuse tag purchased from the municipal offices.

The garbage carts will have black lids, while the recycling carts will have light blue lids. Residents are asked to not write or paint addresses or other information on the carts, but to note the carts’ serial numbers and leave them with the home if they move.
