Longmont’s Green Girl Recycling center to host Hard to Recycle event

Green Girl Recycling center is partnering with Longmont to host a 12-day Hard To Recycle event beginning next week.

The event, which is for Longmont residents only, will run Monday through Nov. 11. Drop-off hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Green Girl Recycling center at 21 S. Sunset St. in Longmont.

Bridget Johnson, the owner of Green Girl Recycling, said it’s critical for anyone wishing to participate to register online ahead of time due to the company’s pandemic policies.

“With COVID protocols, we are trying to keep people spaced out, and if they sign up, we can keep them spaced, which will allow for better flow and safety,” Johnson said.

Registration can be completed at greengirlrecycling.com/hard-to-recycle-event. Participants must also bring proof of residency in the form of a Longmont utility bill or ID with address listed.

Green Girl Recycling was founded in 1998 and provides personalized recycling pickup to mountain communities in Boulder County, according to its website. The company also provides indoor and outdoor recycling receptacles for businesses and commercial spaces.
