Hoffman Estates recycling event set for Aug. 28

Hoffman Estates is hosting its free, annual recycling drop-off and document destruction event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave.

Sponsored by the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County, residents invited to drop off electronics, documents, textiles, medication, sharps, light bulbs, paint and more for recycling at this free, one-day event. Proof of residency is required. Materials will not be accepted from businesses, schools or non-SWANCC residents.

Due to high participation, residents are advised to arrive early.

Workers will unload the recyclables from cars. Residents must remain in their vehicle at all times.

Paper documents should be contained in one area in the back of a vehicle in paper bags or small boxes, not plastic bags. If a resident has both electronics and paper, keep these materials separate in the back of the vehicle.
