The goal of the Free Food Scrap Composting Program is to decrease the quantity of food waste that ends up in landfills. It is being introduced in collaboration with Groot Industries, a garbage and recycling contractor. Residents will have two places to dispose of food scraps: the city-owned parking lot at 91st Street and Wolf's Crossing Road, and the CNG Station, located at 1720 W. Jefferson Ave.

The Textile Recycling Program was started in collaboration with RewearAble, eWorks, and DuPage County. The initiative will gather textiles and apparel for recycling and repurposing. During weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can drop off used clothing, shoes, sheets, bedding, towels, and other home textiles at the City's Environmental Collection Campus, located at 156 Fort Hill Drive.
