Livingston to Host Free Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster):  The City of Livingston, NJ will host an Electronics Recycling & Paper Shredding Event on Sunday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Livingston Senior/Community Center at 204 Hillside Avenue.

According to a news release, early drop-off will be available for electronic items on Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Craft Room 1 on the lower level of the community center. Meanwhile, papers for shredding and bulbs for recycling cannot be dropped off prior to the event.

The event is open for residents only. There will be volunteers stationed on site to guide residents to the correct location. The residents are requested to drive slowly through the parking lot and follow the directions of volunteers. They can remain inside the cars, while the volunteers remove the items from their vehicles.

The event will accept electronics items irrespective of whether they are in working condition or not. However, for safety reasons, television screens or monitors with broken glass or sharp edges will not be accepted.

The event will accept all types of confidential and sensitive paper documents for shredding on site. Businesses and institutions are not eligible to participate in the event. All pages should be removed from plastic binders.
