City of Minot to Implement New Recycling Program

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Minot announced plans to implement a new citywide recycling program.

The start of the new program will officially be marked with the distribution of new 95-gallon blue-topped carts, which is scheduled to happen within a month’s time. The first pick-up day is scheduled for July, 17, which will mark the beginning of a two-month free trial period. Upon completion of the trial period, the service will be charged at the rate of $2.50, said the city press release.

There will be collections four times a month. Initially, the program will cover people who use the city of Minot sanitation. Obviously, apartment buildings or people in modular home parks won’t be part of the program. For triplexes and duplexes to avail of the services, the property owners will have to opt-in for the service.

The introduction of the new recycling program follows the results of a recent survey conducted by the City of Minot, which indicated that 64% of the residents were in favour of a curbside recycling program.

The City app will soon incorporate new features, which will allow them to check the schedule of collection, file complaints and report a missed collection. These changes will be rolled out next month.
