City of Everett to Host Recycling Collection Event on April 1, 2023


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Everett announced that it will host a recycling collection pilot event on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

The event will be held at Everett Station (3201 Smith Ave.) Lot B from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. or whenever it reached capacity. It will be open for all Everett residents and is being funded in part by Washington State Department of Ecology’s Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance grant. The City expects the event to divert approximately 35 tons of recyclable household items from the landfill.

There will be minimal processing fee for certain items. For instance, water heaters with insulation will be charged $5, $35 each for refrigerator, freezer and household air conditioner, $5 for residential propane tanks, $15 for porcelain toilets and sinks and $30 per mattress and box spring.

The recycling event will also accept up to 6 passenger tires per household, two loads of bulky wood per household and electronic equipment including DVD players, VCRs, stereo equipment, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, cellular phones/batteries, CPUs, and computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice. However, computer monitors and televisions will not be accepted.

In addition, document shredding services will be offered with limit of 4 file-size boxes per household.
