Champaign County to Host Fall Electronics Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Champaign County will host fall bi-annual residential electronics recycling event on October 14th, 2023, Saturday. The event, hosted by Champaign County, City of Champaign, City of Urbana, and Village of Savoy will be held at Parkland College, 2400 W. Bradley Ave, Champaign.

The event will be free for all area residents. However, pre-registration is required for participation. The online registration to pre-book a 15-minute time slot to drop off their used electronic items for recycling is now open. The pre-registration process is intended to cut off wait times. The residents who live outside of Champaign County or in non-participating communities in Champaign County are not eligible for participation.

Upon registration, residents will receive a confirmation email and/or text. The registrants will receive a postcard in mail, prior to the event, which will serve as the entry ticket to the event. The residents are urged to use the Duncan Road Entrance into Parkland and follow signs to dispose of their e-waste.

The event will not accept hazardous waste. All types, models and sizes of TVs including CRT tube TVs are accepted. There will be a limit of four televisions per person/postcard and a total limit of seven items. Carpooling is allowed and is encouraged. Anybody else could drop off the items for you, provided they have your post card.
