Casella Made Strong Start to the Year, Keeps 2025 Guidance Unchanged


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Financial figures for the first quarter of the year were released by Casella Waste Systems. Even though severe weather affected its operations in the Northeast, the company had a great start to the year. Additionally, the company's guidance for the entire year remained unchanged.

When compared to the same quarter last year, Casella Waste Systems' Q1 revenue of $417.1 million was a substantial 22.3% increase. In the first quarter of 2025, it reported a net loss of $4.8 million, as opposed to $4.1 million in the same period in 2024. The quarter's adjusted EBITDA increased by 21.7% to $86.4 million, a notable increase from the previous year.

The solid trash pricing increased 5.6% year over year, according to an earnings announcement. Price and volume increases drove a 7% organic growth in the company's landfill division. Casella stated that their pricing projection for the year will be approximately 5%.

So far this year, the company has announced four acquisitions, bringing its yearly sales to almost $50 million. Revenue from its ongoing M&A pipeline exceeds $500 million. The company's upcoming M&A endeavors will benefit from its robust liquidity of over $900 million. According to Casella Waste Systems CEO John Casella, the company aims for strategic expansion along the Eastern Seaboard.

The business stated that because it concentrates on domestic operations, it is not as vulnerable to the effects of tariffs.
