Residents can bring tires from cars, trucks, farm implements, tractors and bicycles. Both tires mounted on rims and those removed from rims will be accepted.
County officials said that several items will not be accepted, including TVs, electronics, household appliances, tires, asbestos, medical waste, explosives, ammunition, smoke detectors, radioactive waste, and large gas cylinders.
Disposal fees vary based on material type and volume. Per cubic yard, rates range from $35 for scrap metal to $153 for compacted garbage, with standard trash, wood and yard waste set at $51.
In addition, residents may dispose of passenger vehicle and light truck tires. All tires must be removed from their rims before disposal. Also, there will be a recycling fee of $3 per tire, organizers noted.
