Darcy Phillips, Executive Director, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful extended gratitude to funders and municipal partners who made this cleanup financially possible. Also, she thanked hundreds of volunteers who made the Truckee River Cleanup a huge success. The event has provided an opportunity to community members to join hands to beautify the region, she added.

KTMB has been hosting the annual cleanup event for the past two decades. The event removes trash, debris, weeds and other green waste from the banks of the Truckee River and plants trees in nearby parks. This year’s event removed 22 tons of weed and planted as many as 135 trees.

The KTMB press release said that the next major event will be the upcoming Christmas tree recycling programs which will be held at multiple locations across the community.
