The City of Midland to Build Two New Collection Stations

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Midland City Council has given its approval for the proposal to construct two new Citizens Collection Stations. The decision on recycling centers were arrived at during the City Council meeting held Tuesday. It must be noted that the city already has a station near Claydesta.

According to Council press release, the new stations will be located in the western and eastern parts of Midland, for which some landmarks were being pointed out. The two new stations, which will be constructed at an expense of around $6.5 million, will give Midlanders additional opportunity to recycle items.

The Council has decided to authorize contractors towards construction of the North Citizen Collection Station project and the West Citizen Collection Station projects. The west station will be located near movie theatre Cinergy, whereas the north station will be near to the water tower by 349 going towards Lamesa or Lubbock. The two new stations are expected to be completed by 2025. Upon completion of the two projects, the current station will close down, it said.

Jack Ladd, Council member noted that the two stations are required because Midland just keep growing and its people should have some place to get rid of items including furniture and mattresses, instead of dumping them.
