Pleasants County to Host Annual Electronics Recycling Event on Earth Day


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Pleasants County Solid Waste Authority announced its decision to host its annual electronics recycling collection event at the Momentive Performance Materials Plant, 10851 Energy Highway, in Friendly 9 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, Earth Day.

The event will accept a wide range of broken or unwanted electronic equipment from residents of nearby counties, nonprofits and small businesses.

This is the 15th year, the County is hosting electronics recycling event. To-date, such events have collected approximately 550,000 pounds of discarded electronics.

The items accepted during the event include AC adapters, portable air conditioners, batteries, cell phones, computers/laptops with parts/components, docking stations, electrical components, electrical motors, film/digital cameras, fans/electrical heaters, gaming systems, household electronics, ink and toner cartridges, keyboards/mice, LCD monitors and TVs, light ballasts, microwaves, shredders, small household appliances, software, stereo and video equipment, telephones, transformers, two-way communication equipment, battery backups, wi-fi equipment and wire/cables.

Meantime, the event will not accept large household appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines, hazardous materials, household hazardous wastes, CDs, video or cassette tapes and light bulbs.
