City of Laurel Provides Important Update on Electronics Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Laurel, Maryland announced important update to its public works electronics recycling event. The semi-annual electronics recycling and paper shredding event is scheduled to be held this Saturday, April 15th at the Public Works Building, Fairall Foundry Public Works Complex at 305 First Street from 8AM until 12 Noon.

In an update about the event, the City announced that GreenDrop Charity truck will not attend the event as it has in the previous years. Also, Public Works will not accept household goods for drop off during the event. Those interested to donate lightly used home goods for charity can schedule a pickup directly with the charity. Additionally, the items may be taken to Greendrop at the Laurel Plaza at 201 Fort Meade Road on weekdays between 10 AM and 5PM.

All vehicles are required to enter through the First Street entrance. The residents are requested to stay in their cars, keeping their IDs ready for verification and items for drop-off and shredding placed in trunks. The volunteers will remove the items. North Laurel,  West Laurel, South Laurel, Montpelier, The Russett and Maryland City are all not in City Limits and will not have a chance to participate in the event.

The event comprises of electronics recycling, paper shredding and EPS/Styrofoam drop-off for recycling.
