SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): East Longmeadow, MA-headquartered leading waste and recycling solutions provider, Northstar Recycling Company LLC announced the acquisition of Sonoco Sustainability Solutions (S3), a division of Sonoco. However, the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The statement issued by Northstar Recycling said that it is pleased to be joining forces with S3 to expand their combined capabilities, customer base, and subject matter expertise. S3’s business model is highly-complementary to that of Northstar. It welcomed the entire S3 team to Northstar and said it looks forward to working together to continue to provide differentiated solutions to their combined customer base.

Palace Stepps, President of Sonoco Recycling, LLC commented that S3 and Northstar have shared the same mission of developing innovative and executable strategies to reduce environmental footprints and boost sustainability efforts, for several years now. The collaboration with a market leader like Northstar will further elevate the important work that the S3 team has been pursuing for nearly two decades. The company looks forward to continuing a strategic relationship with Northstar, he added.
