New Partnership to Expand EPS Recycling in Colorado

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): In an effort to increase access to EPS recycling throughout the state, the Polystyrene Recycling Alliance (PSRA) announced a new collaboration with the nonprofit organization Circular Colorado.

The collaboration will create reproducible, statewide EPS collecting models and deliver them to current end markets. The partnership will utilize the Circular Transportation Network (CTN), a cutting-edge technology created for the Circular Economy Development Center (CEDC) by Circular Colorado.

Recyclable items are gathered and transported to central processing hubs by the CTN from underserved and rural regions. After being gathered by this network, EPS will be taken to a facility located along Colorado's Front Range, where it will be combined, compressed, and sent to final markets for further use.

The collaboration marks a significant turning point for the circularity of expanded polystyrene, according to Richard Shaw, Chair of the Polystyrene Recycling Alliance. He stated that the collaboration with Circular Colorado will assist in linking items that were previously disregarded to the current recycling infrastructure.

In addition to reaching out to new towns, Circular Colorado will continue to interact with its current business and governmental partners.
