Mobile County, Cities Undertake Recycling Feasibility Study


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Mobile, Mobile County and other cities in the county have urged residents to take part in a county-wide recycling feasibility study, aimed at collecting residents’ opinions on recycling and their suggestions towards improving the whole system.

Casi Callaway, Chief Resilience Officer for Mobile noted that they look forward to hear from citizens on what type of recycling service they exactly want, whether they want more recycling and if so, what extra efforts the authorities are required to make to fulfil their wishes.

Sharee Broussard, Mobile County Director of Public Affairs urged people to participate in the survey and attend meetings in order to ensure that their voices are heard, in order to make the recycling programs more effective.

There will be three upcoming meetings. The first one is scheduled to be held on May 23rd 1 PM at Bayou LaBatre Community Center (12745 Padgett Switch Rd.). The second one, again on the same day, will be at 6 PM at Connie Hudson Senior Center (3201 Hillcrest Rd.) The third meeting will be held May 24th 1 PM at Saraland Civic Center (718 Mae St.)

The study is being conducted with the help of a grant support from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. The results are expected by this summer.
