As per the agreement, the company will initially charge a processing fee of $77 per ton, which would increase in subsequent years by $3 per ton over the three-year contract period. It will offer a rebate of 80% of the average commodity revenue, equating to a low revenue of $46, due to current poor recycling markets. However, the markets are expected to rise during the course of the year, City officials noted.

According to City estimates, nearly 800 tons of materials will be sent for processing during the current year. The cost would total around $61,600, at an average of $77 a ton. The cost, after rebate is estimated at around $21,000 for the whole year, based on a $50 a ton average commodity revenue.
