Lenawee County Announced Twin Spring Recycling Events in May


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Lenawee County will host two spring recycling events in the month of May this year- on 13th and 20th. Both the events will be open to all Lenawee County residents.

The Household Hazardous Waste Day on May 13 will be held at Anderson Development, 1415 E. Michigan St. in Adrian from 8 a.m. until noon. The event, held under the sponsorship of Anderson Development Corp. and Wacker Chemical Co., will accept wide range of materials including aerosols, florescent light bulbs, automotive fluids, paint, fuels, oils and pesticides, said the County press release.

The community collection event on May 20 will be held from 8 a.m. until noon at the Lenawee County Fair & Event Grounds at 602 N. Dean St. in Adrian. This event will accept tires, solid foams, packaging materials and batteries, in addition to offering paper shredding services. Proof of residency will be required for tire recycling.

The recycling fee of $1 will be charged for motorcycle or small tire and $2 for passenger vehicle or light pickup tire. Also, there will be a fee of $3.50 a pound for alkaline/silver oxide, $3 each for drill/cordless tool packs and 75 cents each for lithium cell batteries. Also, lithium coin, NI-CD, NI-MH and LiFE04 cell batteries will have a recycling fee of 25 cents each.
