Lake Lotawana Community Annual Electronics Recycling Event Announced


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church will host an annual electronics recycling event at Community United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 9 at 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. The event will be held at the parking lot of the church at Gate 1 and 28901 NE Colbern Road, Lake Lotawana. This is the 12th consecutive year that the event is being held.

The recycling event, held in association with electronics recycler MRC, will accept a wide range of electronic devices. This includes almost all devices with a plug or a battery and is not limited to computers, computer accessories, printers, TVs, cell phones, old telephones, small kitchen appliances, large home appliances, lawn equipment and batteries.

There are some items for which residents will have to pay a recycling fee. A fee of $5 will be charged for CRT computer monitors, $10 for any unit that contain Freon, $20 for LED/LCD/Plasma TVs, $30 for CRT TVs 26” or smaller and $50 for CRT TVs 27” and larger, wood console TVs and big screen/projection TVs. Everything else will be accepted free.

MRC will ensure that all materials will be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner and that data on computers and devices are wiped off securely.
