Keep Golden Isles Beautiful’s Electronics Recycling Event Set for April 22

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Keep Golden Isles Beautiful’s Electronics Recycling and More event will be held on April 22. It will be a three-hour event from 9 a.m. to noon, which will be held in the old Sears parking lot at the Glynn Place Mall.

Lea King-Badyna, executive director, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful welcomed volunteers in the form of high school students and adults to be part of the event. The recyclers will just have to drive through the event, while volunteers will help unload materials. If people start getting out of their cars to unload materials, it will slow down things significantly, she noted. Also, she requested people to use the Altama Connector entrance by Arby’s to access the event.

There will be a donation of $5 per vehicle. Some hazardous materials will attract a fee for recycling. For instance, there will be a fee of $20 per television and $10 per monitor. The event will not accept small appliances, vacuum cleaners and light bulbs. Also, it will not provide sensitive document shredding services during the event.

The accepted items include modems, CPUs, keyboards, printers, and CD players, scrap metal, prescription drugs, textiles and more.

The event offers a proper outlet for residents to safely dispose of their old stuff, said Clement Cullens, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful’s board chairman.
