SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Stark Tuscarawas Wayne Recycling District, New Philadelphia City Schools and Summit e-Waste Recycling Solutions will host Electronics Recycling Day from 9 a.m. to noon June 27 at New Philadelphia High School, 343 Ray Ave. NW, New Philadelphia.
The event will be held in the school parking lot. Residents should enter from Lee Benjamin Drive off Fourth Street and follow traffic directions to the designated drop-off area.
Items accepted for recycling include desktop computers, laptops, printers, cellphones, tablets, telephones, modems, routers, servers, DVD players, VCRs, stereos, game consoles, radios, cables, power adapters, ink and toner cartridges, computer monitors and televisions.
A mobile hard drive shredder will be on-site. Participants may bring desktop or laptop computers to the shredding station, where hard drives will be removed and destroyed.
Items that plug in or use batteries also will be accepted.
A fee will be charged for CRT, or tube-style, televisions: $10 for sets 12 inches and smaller and $20 for sets larger than 12 inches. Television screens will be measured diagonally. All forms of payment will be accepted, but organizers request exact change when possible to help keep traffic moving smoothly.
