Columbia Announced Restart of Curbside Recycling Pickup

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Columbia Solid Waste Utility announced resumption of residential curbside recycling collections effective today, 18th March, 2024. The services had been suspended for the past ten months following staff shortages.

The City of Columbia official website noted that recycling services will operate on an every-other-week basis. The residents can put their recyclables for collection on curbside on their regularly scheduled refuse pickup day. The recycling pickup will happen the same day as trash collection. The mixed containers must be placed in blue recycling bins, whereas the mixed fibres should be placed in a box or paper bag.  Meantime, there will be no change in collection routes.

Residents must ensure that recycling is not placed in refuse roll carts at any cost. The residential roll cart refuse collection service had restarted with effect from 4th March, City website said. The resumption of curbside recycling pickup is expected to make the lives of Columbians much easier, it noted.

The collection schedules have been provided by means of an interactive collection map. Emails have already been forwarded to residents detailing how to access these interactive maps.
