City to Advance Dual Stream Recycling Program

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Grand Junction has heralded advancement of the dual stream recycling program, the second phase of which is scheduled to commence on 11th September, 2023 in the downtown, Orchard Mesa and northeast areas.

The City will hold three events to provide details about the next phase of the recycling program. The first of the three events will be held at the City Hall Auditorium at 250 N. Fifth St. on 3rd August 4PM to 6 PM. The other two events are planned for 8th and 17th of August, which will be held at Spring Valley Park II at 2899 Beachwood St. and Eagle Rim Park located at 2736 Cheyenne Drive.

The dual stream recycling program offers automated recycling pickup. It offers same day pickup of trash and recycling. The monthly charges for collecting trash and recycling has been fixed as $11.50 for a 48-gallon bin, $15.75 for a 64-gallon bin and $25 for a 96-gallon bin.

The recycling program will offer yard waste collection from April through October. However, it will not collect glass with curbside recycling. The residents could drop off glass at the recycling center at 333 West Ave. and other city-wide locations.

Earlier this year, the city had introduced the first phase of dual stream recycling in the downtown, north and Redlands areas.
