SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Rosenburg announced that it will host a paper shredding event on Saturday, March 4, which will be held at Rosenberg City Hall, 2110 Fourth St. The free event will be open to all Rosenburg residents. The tming of the event is from 9 AM to noon.
The participants are required to show proof of residency onsite. This could be city utility bill, driver’s license or any other form of identification. Alternatively, residents could also verify their address by picking up a “fast pass” from citizens relations at city hall or the Rosenberg Civic Center before Friday, March 3, at 5 p.m. Those with “free pass” will be allowed to move through the line without having to stop for on-site address verification.
Residents are requested to stay in their vehicle. The onsite personnel will offload documents from the vehicle, which will be later shredded and recycled. At a time, only eight boxes per vehicle will be allowed. Those with more than eight boxes will have to re-enter the queue for each eight boxes.
The items accepted include paper documents, hanging file folders, folders with brads, manila folders, paper clips and binder clips, staples, notebooks, check books, magazines, newspapers, floppy discs and compact discs. However, the event will not accept 3-ring binders, plastic sheet protectors, cardboard boxes, electronics, metal, plastic and trash.
