City of Norfolk to Conduct Survey on Curbside Recycling


SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The City of Norfolk is conducting a survey among residents to hear from them on their suggestions as to how the city could improve its curbside recycling program. It must be noted that the city’s existing recycling contract with Tidewater Fibre Corporation is due to come to an end in July this year.

The one-month long survey aims to collect information from residents on their recycling practices and also their opinions on the future implementation of the city-wide curbside recycling program.

According to city website, the survey, which began on 8th January, 2024, will be open until 9th February, 2024. The survey could be taken online. Instead, they could opt for a physical version of the survey, through tele-call or e-mail.

The feedback from residents will help the city to make informed policy decision, thus assisting the city manager to determine the funding allocation for recycling.

The City of Norfolk offers two recycling drop-off facilities for its residents located at Waste Management, 1176 Pineridge Road and Towing and Recovery, 1188-A Lance Road. These sites are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and accepts the same items for recycling that are accepted in the curbside recycling program. In addition, the SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station, 3136 Woodland Avenue will accept household hazardous waste as well as electronic items.
