Braskem and Nexus Circular Signed Contract for Circular Plastic Feedstocks


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Braskem S.A. and Nexus Circular announced that they have signed a 10-year definitive commercial agreement towards supply of circular feedstocks from a new advanced recycling facility. It must be noted that Braskem had recently completed a strategic investment in Nexus Circular.

The supply of advanced recycled circular products from Nexus will help Braskem achieve its earlier stated goal of selling 300 thousand metric tons of products with recycled content by 2025 and 1 million metric tons by 2030.

Commenting on the development, Mark Nikolich, CEO, Braskem America said that it looks forward to a long and growing partnership with Nexus to secure high-quality feedstock for the production of certified circular PP resins. This will support the company’s initiative to develop a carbon neutral circular economy for plastics. Furthermore, it will offer support to its clients to achieve their goals for plastics with recycled content, he added.

Jodie Morgan, CEO, Nexus Circular noted that the long-term commercial contract will build upon the strong foundation of the growing relationship between the two companies. The company is excited to partner with Braskem to boost its ability to address the complex challenges of plastics accumulation, he said.
