Wiicare Joins Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council as its Newest Member


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Wiicare- the leading global manufacturer of healthcare packaging materials, including medical device, pharmaceutical, sterile barrier packaging and packaging machinery has joined the Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC) as its newest member.

Peylina Chu, Director of HPRC, in a statement, said that the Council is pleased to welcome Wiicare as its new member. The corporate strategy of the company is firmly centered on sustainability and waste reduction, thus aligning strongly with HPRC's mission and vision of enabling plastic recycling solutions in healthcare, he noted. It must be noted that Wiicare has been actively working towards circular solutions in their packaging materials.

Juho Korkala, Global Product Manager for Medical Device Industry at Wiicare reiterated the company’s commitment to sustainability and development of sustainable products. The collaboration with committed organizations such as HPRC will help the company to significantly contribute to the circularity in healthcare packaging products, he added.

Incidentally, HPRC has been involved in several projects aimed at enabling the recycling of healthcare plastics in collaboration with recyclers. Also, it is engaged in research into advanced recycling technologies to recycle mixed-stream healthcare plastics.
