Boyle County Launched New Innovative Recycling App

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Boyle County announced launch of a new innovative app titled ‘Boyle County Recycling’. The app provides residents with key information including what items it accept for recycling and what are not. It is available for both Apple and Android users.

The primary intention behind the development of the app was to educate residents on recycling, said Angela Muncy, Waste Management Director of the County. It was developed in collaboration with Recollect- an app design company that focuses on trash/recycling apps, she added.

The app incorporates “Waste Wizard”- a search tool which helps users to find out what to do with a specific item. The popular searches such as clothes, styrofoam packaging and broken glass are included in the home page.

The app also features a sorting game for trash and recycling. The game pops up an item randomly. The player has to correctly select the right place to put the item. Each level of the game involves correctly sorting six items. The game has five levels with six items each. After successful completion of five levels, players will be given a certificate.

The County plans to add a calendar showing both Boyle and Danville’s trash and recycling schedules by the end of 2023.
