$50M Modern PET Recycling Plant to be Built in Georgia


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): German recycling company, revalyu Resources, announced plans to build a new polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling facility in Georgia.

The $50 million facility will be located at a 43-acre land in Statesboro and will have a full capacity of up to 450,000 pounds per day. In the first phase, the plant will have capacity to recycle and process over 225,000 pounds per day of used PET waste. The groundbreaking of the plant is scheduled to take place in the first half of the current year, with expected 2024 commissioning. The plant will create 70 new jobs.

The proposed plant will employ breakthrough chemical recycling technology that extracts impurities efficiently and delivers clean recycled PET of highest purity and quality. The company targets recycling capacity of more than 2 million pounds per day by 2026, said the company press release.

Dr. Vivek Tandon, Founder of revalyu noted that the commercialization of the breakthrough and environmentally sustainable technology will help revalyu to become the leading global brand for recycling polyester. The company invited strong partners across the globe to roll out the technology.
