WM to Build New Materials Recycling Facility in Tennessee

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): WM- the Houston-based waste and recycling leader announced plans to construct a new C&D materials recycling facility (MRF) at its Southern Services Eco Park location in Nashville, Tennessee. The proposed facility is expected to become operational by September this year.

According to company press release, the facility will have capacity to accept up to 1,200 tons per day of C&D materials for recycling. This is more than ten times the current recycling capacity of the site.

Don Gentilcore, Mid-South area director of disposal operations for WM noted that the company is excited about the new facility and the opportunity to increase construction and demolition recycling capacity for the area. It called upon authorities to implement necessary policy changes in order to effectively address the region’s C&D waste crisis. The company looks forward to work in collaboration with the city to develop end markets for recovered materials, Gentilcore added.

The Southern Services business park is also home to the only C&D landfill in Davidson County. The new C&D recycling facility will provide WM with additional disposal options and more capacity to its customers.
