SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Eden Prairie to host a Spring Recycling Drop-Off event on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The event is scheduled to be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Eden Prairie Yard Waste Site, 9811 Flying Cloud Drive.

The above recycling drop-off event will be open to Eden Prairie residents only. The residents who wish to participate in the event will have to produce valid identification for proof of residency.

The event will accept a wide range of materials including appliances, tires, power equipment, household electronics, propane tanks, exercise equipment, furniture, mattresses, and box springs.

Certain items such as VCRs, cell phones, answering machines and automotive lead-acid batteries could be dropped for free. There will be a disposal fee of $1 for items such as computer mouse or ink/toner cartridges. Also, a fee of $150 will be charged for items like sectional couches with reclining ends or hide-a-beds.

In addition, the city will host curbside recycling during the entire month of May this year, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. This will be limited to residents of Eden Prairie only and residents are required to schedule a pickup by calling Certified Recycling. The items placed in curbside must be free from hazardous substances. Additionally, light bulbs and batteries will not be accepted.
