VLS Environmental Solutions’ Carbon Black Program Sets New Standard

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): VLS Environmental Solutions’ innovative Carbon Black Program has set a new standard in sustainable solutions.

An estimated 35 to 50 tons of materials can be processed per day at the company's Mauldin, South Carolina, facility, where the program is operated. By doing this, the company keeps over 10,000 tons of powders out of landfills annually. By conserving valuable natural resources, the program assists manufacturers nationwide in meeting sustainability targets.

The program turns waste ink and toner powder and carbon black into fuel products. By encouraging sustainable energy sources, it lessens its effects on the environment. To help them remove massive amounts of materials from landfills and lessen their need on fossil fuels, the company has teamed with a number of tire and aviation manufacturers.

It is easy for carbon black powder to dust the environment and contaminate nearby places. VLS Environmental Solutions handles this waste stream in a safe and effective manner. The novel method gathers these wastes, transforms them into valuable designed fuel products, and processes them in a completely contained system.

"The Carbon Black Program is a game-changer for many businesses and another step in VLS's leadership in environmental stewardship," said Adam Henderson, general manager of the Mauldin site.
