Veolia Targets 50% Growth, Plans Major Expansion in the U.S.

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): France-headquartered leading environmental services company Veolia announced plans of major expansion of its U.S. operations. The company targets 50% growth in the coming years. This was disclosed by Estelle Brachlianoff, CEO of the company at a recently held U.S. Chamber of Commerce event.

The company claims that customer concerns over perfluoroalkyl (PFAS) and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) pollution, as well as U.S. PFAS legislation, will be the primary drivers of the projected expansion. It anticipates that its PFAS cleanup technologies—which include deep well injection, landfilling, incineration, and water treatment—will increase significantly in the United States.

Veolia announced opening of a PFAS treatment plant in Delaware at an investment of nearly $35 million. The plant is considered to be one of the largest PFAS treatment plants in the U.S. The plant aims to remove regulated PFAS from up to 30 million gallons of water per day. It must be noted that the company is on pace to develop more than 100 treatment sites in America as part of its BeyondPFAS services portfolio.

Veolia also promised to update its guidelines on PFAS disposal and destruction techniques more frequently. It stated that the upgrade procedure, which was previously planned to occur every three years, will now occur annually.
