Union County to Hold Scrap Metal Recycling Events


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Union County Board of County Commissioners announced that it will hold multiple scrap metal recycling drop-off events in the month of May.

The free events, which will accept old or unwanted metal goods from County residents, will be held Thursday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The drop-off centres are located in Emergency Services Building, 151 Kenilworth Boulevard, Cranford and Rahway River Park, Rahway. The residents in any Union County municipality may bring scrap metal to any of these two sites.

Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded, Commissioner Chairwoman called upon residents to make use of the events to properly dispose of any unwanted, broken, or old scrap metal items. By ensuring responsible recycling of these metal goods, the residents could contribute to a cleaner and safer Union County, she said.

The events will accept a wide range of metal items including air conditioners, aluminum scrap, aluminum siding, bicycles, brass, copper, dishwashers, electric fans, fencing, freezers, gutters, irons, lawn furniture, metal cabinets, metal sheds, microwaves, pots and pans, railings, refrigerators, stoves, tire rims, toasters, washers and dryers, window frames and wire hangers.
