New Providence Won Sustainability Grant Funded by PSEG Foundation


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): New Providence, NJ has won a sustainability grant worth $2,000 funded by the PSEG Foundation. A total of seven $20,000-grants, 11 $10,000-grants and 28 $2,000-grants were distributed to recipients across 17 New Jersey counties. The grants will fund a wide range of green initiatives and green infrastructure development projects across the state.

Over the past 13 years, the Foundation has contributed $3.4 million dollars in funding to the Sustainable Jersey grants program for municipalities and schools. Till date, Sustainable Jersey has provided over $7.9 million in grants to municipalities, school districts and schools. In general, the grants are intended to help municipalities and schools make progress toward a sustainable future.

All the proposals submitted for the grant program were evaluated by an independent Blue-Ribbon Selection Committee. 

Randall Solomon, executive director for Sustainable Jersey highlighted the need to keep raising collective ambitions towards implementing solutions to key sustainability challenges. Sustainable Jersey grants give municipalities and schools the chance to dream big and implement projects that help New Jersey become more liveable, environmentally friendly and prosperous, Solomon added.
