SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Union County Board of Commissioners announced schedule for free recycling events during the month of July this year. These events offer residents an opportunity to safely and securely dispose paper and scrap metal waste at drop-off locations across the County.

The free mobile paper shredding event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at the lot adjacent to the Park Services yard (across the swimming pool) at Rahway River Park, located off St. George’s Avenue in Rahway. The event will conclude before 1:00 p.m. if the trucks gets filled before that. The shredded paper will be taken to a recycling facility for further processing.
The County’s Scrap Metal Recycling Program will be held on two days- Thursday, July 3rd, and Saturday, July 19th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The drop-off locations for the event are Emergency Services Building, 151 Kenilworth Boulevard, Kenilworth, Cranford and Rahway River Park (follow Park Drive, Rahway off St. George’s Avenue to service yard across from swimming pool), Rahway.
The above event will accept a wide range of items including refrigerators (with doors removed), metal cabinets, appliances, bicycles, aluminum scrap, air conditioners, and other metal household goods.
