In Vernon, tires will be collected on 1st June, 2024 9AM to 1 PM at Kal Tire #672, 1460 Kal Lake Road. TSBC will hold two events in September-one in Kelowna and the second in Prince George. The Kelowna event will be held on 7th at Okanagan College, Parking Lot #17, 1000 K. L. O. Rd, whereas the Prince George event will be held on 28th at CN Centre, 2187 Ospika Blvd S #100.

The tires collected at the above events will be recycled and turned into new, useful products such as flooring, roofing, playground surfaces and athletic tracks. The recycling process recovers both rubber and steel.

Rosemary Sutton, executive director, TSBC urged residents to take best advantage of the collection events as it is not advisable to abandon old or unused tires, as they are prone to become breeding ground for mosquitoes, once water gets collected in them.
